FAQs

How do I make a booking?

You will need to complete a booking form. Booking forms are sent in our marketing despatch and can be downloaded here. Alternatively you may book via our online booking request.

Can I provisionally reserve a place?

No, but this isn't usually necessary. All bookings must be received in writing for us to absolutely determine that the course can run, ensuring fairness to delegates.

I haven't had any confirmation, am I booked on?

If the course date is over 1 month, then it is unlikely that we have input your form as we have to priortise bookings. If we have input your form, our system is set-up so that confirmation is automatically sent out. We kindly ask that all delegates be patient and contact us 1-2 weeks before the course if they haven't received confirmation.

Please can you send me details on a course?

Information on all our courses can be obtained and printed via the website. Alternatively you may contact us by email, fax, post or telephone and we will be happy to provide you with the information you require.

Are there any places available?

We cannot guarantee a place, but in most cases we can accommodate all bookings because we book venues with the capacity to ensure that there are sufficient places available. As a guide, if the course date is over 1 month then there should be a place; however places on IT venues are very limited. In all cases, please book early to avoid disappointment.

Is the course still running?

We check to see if the course is viable approximately 2 weeks before the course date and will inform you of any cancellation by letter and fax.

I want to attend a course can you tell me where the venue is?

We inform you of the venue after you make a booking. This ensures that delegates do not turn up on the day without a confirmation, which can be disruptive and delay the start of the course. If making travel arrangements is a concern, we can tell you nearest transport links in the area.

Can I cancel a booking without charge?

All cancellations must be made in writing. Providing that we receive notification 2 weeks before the course date, we can cancel without charge. After 2 weeks we have already committed course costs to third parties so no refund can be made.

Can I transfer my booking?

Yes, providing we receive notification two weeks before the course date.

How do I pay?

There are two methods to pay for a course, you can either send your booking form in with a cheque attached (payable to OCR), or you can request for an invoice to be raised and sent to your centre by ticking the appropriate box on the booking. You will need to include your full centre name and address if you wish to be invoiced. Invoices are sent to a centre normally within a month of your booking being input onto our system.

Does the course fee include VAT?

As Mill Wharf Training is part of OCR we are VAT exempt, therefore the course fee stated is the fee you will pay (there are no hidden extras unlike many other training providers).

Do I need to send a purchase order with a booking form?

It is not necessary to send us a copy of your purchase order at the time of booking, we can still process the booking without it. Once a purchase order has been raised you can forward this to us, but please ensure that you have gained permission to attend a course before submitting the booking form.

Will the course be offered later in the term in my area?

Information on all future course dates can be obtained by looking at the individual course details located on our training events page.

Can you tell me who the course is aimed at?

The individual course fliers state who the course is aimed at, if you do not have this flier it can be downloaded from the training events section of this website.

Can I have this course delivered in my centre?

Almost all our courses can be delivered in your centre, if the course advertised does not specifically meet all your requirements we can liaise with our training providers to tailor the course. For more information please click here or contact us on 02476 496 396.

What are the course start and finish times?

All of our courses begin at 9.30am with welcome and refreshments, with the first session beginning at 9.45am. End times vary from course to course but most finish at or around 4pm.

What do I do if I'm going to be late for a course?

Please telephone the venue where the course is to be held, they will then pass this information on to the tutor. Contact details for the venue can be found on the map.

Are Mill Wharf Training courses related to OCR Qualifications?

Mill Wharf Training courses are generic and suitable for all awarding bodies (unless it is otherwise stated in the course fliers).
